Woman hacked to death

An elderly woman was hacked to death at her house in Haritana village under Pathorghata upazila of Barguna district early yesterday. The deceased is Lal Baru, 70, wife of Nagar Ali of the village. SM Ziaul Haque, officer-in-charge of Pathorghata Police Station, said a gang swooped on the house and hacked the woman, leaving her dead on the spot when she was asleep. On information, police rushed to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Barguna General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
