UZ chairman lands in jail

A Joypurhat court has sent the chairman of Panchbibi Upazila Parishad to jail, rejecting his bail prayer in a sabotage case filed after the January 5 national election. The accused is Mostafizur Rahman, also former secretary of the upazila unit of Jamaat. Earlier, the High Court gave bail to Mustafizur in the case. Yesterday, Senior Judicial Magistrate Court of Abdullah Al Amin passed the order when the chairman sought bail in the case, said Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal, officer-in-charge of Panchbibi Police Station.
