Two hundi traders held in Joypurhat

Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members detained two alleged hundi traders with Tk 14.5 lakh in Panchbibi upazila of Joypurhat district on Tuesday.

The arrestees are Sudarshan Kundu, son of Nityananda Kundu of Purbo-Bazaar, and Abdul Hossain, son of Abdul Karim of Shantinagar area in Joypurhat Sadar upazila.

Lt Col Abdul Khabir, commanding officer of BGB 3 Battalion in Joypurhat, said the duo were going to Hili border in Hakimpur upazila of Dinajpur from Joypurhat town riding a motorcycle around 3:30pm.

On suspicion, BGB members intercepted their bike at Atapara check-post in Panchbibi upazila. They searched them and recovered Tk 14.5 lakh from their possession, the CO added.
