Two bodies recovered

Police recovered the body of an unidentified man, aged about 55, from a pond in Tongibari upazila of the district yesterday. Police and locals said the victim was mentally challenged and used to rove through different alleys of the upazila headquarters. Officer-in-Charge Alamgir Hossain of Tongibari Police Station said local people spotted the body floating on the pond at local Betka Primary School and informed the police around 9:00am. The body was sent to Munshiganj General Hospital morgue for autopsy. Away in Sadar upazila, a rickshaw puller allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from a mango tree in Joginighat area of the district town the same day. The deceased is Nayan Mia, 18, son of Siraj Mia of Dakkhin Islampur village in the upazila.
