Trader found murdered in Chandpur
A trader was found murdered near Waruk level crossing in Shahrasti upazila of Chandpur district on Friday.
The deceased, Mahbub Alam, 35, son of Abdur Rob of Asrafpur village in Kachua upazila, was the owner of a stationery shop at Nutun Bazar in the upazila.
Police said a woman spotted Mahbub's body lying in a banana orchard in the evening and informed the locals.
Being informed by locals, police went to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to Chandpur Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, sub-inspector Abul Kashem of Shahrasti Police Station said, adding that the body bore stab wounds.
Criminals killed Mahbub and later dumped the body in the orchard, about 100 yards away from the level crossing, police said.
Meanwhile, Police recovered two more bodies from Shahrasti and Sadar upazilas in the district on Thursday night and Friday morning.
