Thakurgaon Jamaat chief arrested

 Law enforcers arrested Abdul Hakim, chief of Thakurgaon district unit of Jamaat-e-Islami, from his residence in Hajirpara area in the town early yesterday.

Police said Abdul Hakim was arrested in a case for arson attack on a pick-up van at Untrishmail area in Sadar upazila on January 25 this year.

Police also suspected his involvement with banned Jama'atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) which carried out a series of bomb blasts across the country on August 17, 2005.
