Slapped by teacher, boy gets ear injuries

A Class VII student got ear injuries as the headmaster of his school slapped him hard following a complaint of another student of the same class on Monday.

The victim -- Azharul Haque Ratul, 13, son of Ashraful Islam of Gulpara area under Parbatipur municipality, and a Class VII student of Ganangkur High School in the upazila, is undergoing treatment at a clinic in Rangpur city for bleeding in his right ear.

Quoting classmates, Ratul's parents said he was playing with his classmates at the school when a playmate got an ink mark on his shirt and complained to the headmaster against Ratul for it.

The headmaster, Md Ashequllah instantly went to the classroom and slapped Ratul on his both ears. Sensing that his right ear started bleeding, the boy returned home and his parents took him to Parbatipur Upazila Health Complex.

Later he was taken to Rangpur as there was no ENT expert at the health complex.

Contacted, Headmaster Ashequllah admitted the incident.
