Six criminals held with arms, ammo in Bogra

Law enforcers arrested six alleged criminals with four foreign made pistols, 14 bullets and four magazines in Chatiatoli area under Sadar upazila of the district yesterday.

They also seized a private car from their possession, said Additional Superintendent of Police Arifur Rahman Mondal. 

The arrestees are Jamil Uddin alias Shuvo, 35, of Dhayapara, Anwarul Islam alias Rana, 42, of Dakkhin Dhayapara, Moniruzzaman Monir, 20, and Rajib Sultan, 21, of Nataipara in the district town, and Abdul Hadi, 52, of Dorindragram and Suruz Mia, 32, of Madla village in Shajahanpur upazila.

Of them, Shuvo is accused in seven cases, including three for murder, while Hadi was sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment in a case for killing a retired army man.

Acting on a tip-off, a joint team of detectives and Gabtoli police raided the area around 1:30am and arrested the six with the arms and bullets, said the ASP.

A case was filed with Sadar Police Station in this connection.
