Rajshahi university teacher sued for sexually harassing 13 students

A case was filed under the Women and Children Repression Prevention act against a teacher of Rajshahi University on Thursday for allegedly sexually harassing his students.

On Wednesday, thirteen students of the university had filed complaints with the university's sexual harassment prevention cell against the same teacher--Professor Dr Md Amirul Momanin Chowdhury, reports our Rajshahi University correspondent.

Then on Thursday, the family of one of the students filed the case with Chandrima Police Station, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the station Sirajum Munir confirmed.

Amirul, who is a professor at the graphics design, crafts and history of the university's art department at the university, denied all allegations after the students filed complaints.

Prof Laila Arjuman Banu, a member of the sexual harassment prevention cell, said they will sit down for a meeting about the allegations on Sunday.
