PCP leader shot dead in Rangamati

A leader of Pahari Chhatra Prishad (PCP), student front of the Parbatya Chattagram Jana Sanghati Samity (PCJSS- MN Larma), was shot dead by a group of unknown criminals in Baghaichhari upazila of Rangamati this afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Rotno Chakma (22), organising secretary of Baghaichhari Kachalong College unit of the PCP, and son of Ananta Lal Chakma of South Herechar village in the upazila, said police.

Quoting locals, Ashraf Uddin, officer-in-charge of Baghaichhari Police Station, said a group of criminals on a motorcycle opened fire on Rotno Chakma in Babupara area of the upazila headquarters around 1:30pm, leaving him dead on the spot.

On information, a police team rushed to the spot to recover the body, our Rangamati correspondent reports quoting the OC.
