One more police personnel dies with Covid-19
A town sub-inspector of Bangladesh Police today died at Jhenaidah's dedicated Covid-19 hospital, where he was undergoing treatment after being diagnosed with coronavirus.
The deceased, TSI Md Shariful Islam (55), hailing from Magura, was posted to Jhenaidah Sadar outpost under Khulna Range, according to a statement issued by the Bangladesh Police Headquarters.
He passed away at the hospital around 3:00pm.
His body has been sent to his ancestral home under the management of Bangladesh Police where he will be buried at the family graveyard in the presence of the top officials of the district police, the statement read.
Inspector General of Police Dr Benazir Ahmed expressed his deep shock at the death of TSI Shariful and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.
The IGP also expressed his condolences to the bereaved family of the deceased.
