One held with 12 gold bars in Benapole

Indian customs officials arrested an employee of a Bangladeshi C & F agent along with 12 gold bars in no-man's land on Benapole border on Saturday evening.

The arrestee was identified as Saiful Islam, 40, an employee of Commercial Agency, and son of Dulu Morol of Dhanyakhola village under Benapole Port Police Station.

Subedar Jalal Uddin, in-charge of Benapole check post BGB camp, said the Petrapole customs officials, on a tip-off, arrested Saiful when he entered the no man's land for going to Petrapole check post.

The Indian customs officers recovered 12 gold bars from his possession.
