No special train during Eid

Bangladesh Railways will not make any special arrangement for carrying additional passengers during Eid-ul-Azha and train operations will remain normal maintaining the health guidelines in wake of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Railways Minister Md Nurul Islam Sujan told reporters the move was taken to discourage people from going home during the Eid holidays.

He urged people to stay wherever they were to keep them safe from being affected by the deadly virus.

Health experts believe that virus transmission can reach a high level if health guidelines are not followed strictly during the Eid-ul-Azha, one of the biggest religious festivals of the Muslim community.

Railways Secretary Md Selim Reza and Bangladesh Railway Director General Md Shamsuzzaman were present, among others.
