Nazrul univ students vandalise buses

Students of Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU) in Trishal upazila of the district yesterday vandalised several buses on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway, protesting the harassment of a fellow student allegedly by a transport worker the day before.

The students blocked the road around 10:00am and vandalised at least five to seven buses, disrupting traffic movements on the highway for nearly half an hour, Officer-in- Charge Moniruzzaman of Trishal Police Station, said.

On information, police went to the spot, dispersed the agitating students and brought the situation under control around 10:30am, the OC added.
