Mother, 2-yr-old son killed in Natore

A housewife and her mentally challenged child have been murdered in Natore’s Naldanga.

The body of deceased Sharmin Akter, 21, was recovered from her bedroom. The dead child Abdullah, 2, was found in a nearby ditch, our local correspondent reports.

Shafiqur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Naldanga Police Station, told The Daily Star suspicions are that both were strangulated to death in the wee hours of today.

Police detained the victim's brother-in-law Mohammad Mukta, 24 and his wife Tania Begum, 19, for interrogation, the OC said adding, that the husband of the deceased Mahmudul Hasan works at a garments factory in Dhaka.
