Man stabbed to death in Mohammadpur

A man was stabbed to death in Dhaka's Mohammadpur area last night.

The victim was identified as Shiru Mia (45), a construction materials supplier.

The murder took place around 8:30pm at Ekota Housing area, nearly an hour after he went outside of his Shekhertek house, his son Mamun said.

"A man informed us that my father was lying in a pool of blood with stab wounds. We rushed there and saw his throat-slit body lying there," he told reporters.

The body was sent to Shaheed Suhrawardi Medical College Hospital morgue for autopsy.

Abdul Latif, officer-in-charge of Mohammadpur Police Station, said the victim's son filed a case and police are trying to track down the killers.
