Man held for raping minor girl
Police arrested a man on charge of raping a schoolgirl at Abadkachia village in Sadar upazila of Jessore district yesterday morning.
The victim is a Class III student of a local primary school.
For all latest news, follow The Daily Star's Google News channel. Illias Hossain, officer-in-charge of Jessore Kotwali Police Station, said victim's neighbour Faruk Hossain, 50, lured her into his room with sweets and raped her there at around 9:00am.
Hearing her screams, family members rushed in and rescued the girl. They caught Faruk, beat him up and informed the police, who went to the spot and arrested him.
A case was filed against Faruk with Sadar Police Station, said the OC.
