Man hacked to death in Jashore hotel

A man was hacked to death by a group of criminals in Arabpur area of Jashore this afternoon.

Men led by one, Sagar (30), hacked Bishe Mia (32), at a hotel in the district town, leaving him severely injured, police and locals said.

Later, he was rushed to Jashore General Hospital, where he died in the evening.

Moniruzzaman, officer-in-charge of Kotwali Police Station, said Bishe Mia might have been killed following an enmity over establishing supremacy in the area.

There were at least nine cases against Bishe, a resident of the town's Arabpur area, according to police.

The body of the deceased has been sent to Jashore General Hospital for autopsy, the OC said adding that a case has been filed in connection with the death.
