Legislative and parliamentary affairs secretary Naren Das dies from coronavirus

Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Secretary of Law Ministry Naren Das has died from coronavirus infection.

He breathed his last around 7:15pm.

He was undergoing treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU), a law ministry press release said.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and Law Minister Anisul Huq expressed profound shock at the death.

They also prayed for the departed soul and expressed deep sympathy for his bereaved family members.

Law and justice division secretary of the law ministry Md Golam Sarwar also expressed deep shock at the death of Naren Das, the press release said.

Naren Das was admitted at BSMMU with breathing problems on July 5.

His test for Covid-19 was conducted on July 7 and the result showed positive.
