Jamaat leader arrested

Police arrested a local leader of Jamaat-e-Islami from his house at Madhya Darmapur village in Sundarganj upazila of the district yesterday. The arrestee is Mozammel Huq, 42, secretary of Sreepur union unit of Jamaat. He was accused in several cases, said Israil Hossain, officer-in-charge of Sundarganj Police Station. The arrestee was later produced before a court which sent him to jail, said police.
