Illegal sand lifter fined

A mobile court yesterday fined a man Tk 10,000 for lifting sand illegally from the bank of the Teesta River at Shibdev Char village in Pirgachha upazila under the district.
The sand lifter is Rafiqul Islam, 50, a hardware trader of Paotana Bazar area in the upazila, police said.
