Fair trial for assault on Mithu: Law minister

Law Minister Anisul Huq today assured that fair trial will be held over the incident of assaulting Sarwar Jahan Mithu, general manager of Green Life Knitting and Washing at Ashulia.

Sarwar Jahan Mithu was allegedly assaulted by the Managing Director of Green Life Knitting and Washing Abu Faisal Mosabber Simon on May 2, and a case was filed with Ashulia Police Station on May 6 in connection with the incident, an officer of the police station said.

Today, Law Minister Anisul Huq said the fair trial of the incident of assault will be ensured after speakers at an Iftar-meeting raised the demand.

The law minister was speaking as chief guest at the meeting organized by Bangabandhu Textile Engineers Association at the Trust auditorium in Dhaka’s Jahangir Gate area.

Bangabandhu Textile Engineers Association’s President Engineer Md Mojaffar Hossain presided over the meeting where State Minister for Public Administration Farhad Hossain, Bangladesh Textile Univerity’s Vice-Chancellor Prof Engineer Abul Kashem and Microfiber Group’s Managing Director Engineer M Shamsuzzaman, among others, spoke.
