Elephants kill one, injure three

A man was killed and three other were injured by wild elephants in Sadar upazila of the district on Wednesday night.
The deceased was identified as Abul Kashem, 60, of Kadukhola village in the upazilla, said locals.
The injured are Mamtaj Uddin, 40, Zakir Hossain, 35, of the village, and a local journalist, Jamir Uddin, 32.
A herd of wild elephants entered the village from nearby reserve forest around 7:00pm and swooped on the villagers, leaving Kashem dead and three others injured, said Ranglai Mro, chairman of Sadar Union Parishad.
