Dr Farid Hossain Miah made new DGHS director

The Ministry of Health has appointed Dr Farid Hossain Miah as the new director (hospitals and clinics) of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

The ministry today issued a circular signed by its Deputy Secretary Abu Raihan Mia.

The decision was made a day after the immediate-past director -- Dr Aminul Hasan -- was made Officer on Special Duty (OSD).

On Tuesday, Director General of the DGHS Prof Abul Kalam Azad resigned amid severe criticism and scams related to Covid-19 tests.
