Covid-19: Education ministry approves GCSE, A-Level exams to be held in January
The education ministry today approved British Council Bangladesh to hold GCSE and A-Level exams in January 2021 on certain conditions amid the ongoing pandemic.
A circular was issued by Secondary and Higher Education Division today following an application filed by the British Council on December 8 for approving the exam dates.
According to the circular, the ministry asked everyone to strictly follow health guidelines of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) and World Health Organization.
At least 1,600 students will sit for exams in 35 venues across the country. Students will have to be seated six feet away from each other.
Bangladesh government can however cancel the approval for the sake of people's interest considering the situation.
If any student is infected with Covid-19 infection during the exams, the British Council will have to be accountable, the circular added.
