College girl murdered in Bogra
Unidentified criminals killed a college girl on Sunday night and later dumped the body at Satantola in Shabgram area under Sadar upazila of the district.
The victim was identified as Rifa Tasfia Tuba, 17, daughter of Abdur Rouf of Shabujbag area in Bogra town, and an HSC first year student of Government Azizul Haque College.
Family sources said she went out on Sunday afternoon to go to her friend's house at Nataipara in the town and did not return.
Getting worried, family members started searching for her and found her body beside the tracks on Bogra-Lalmonirhat rail route at around 10:00pm. Government Railway Police (GRP) recovered the body and sent it to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital (SZMCH) for autopsy.
Injury marks were found in the middle of her head, and the left hand was broken. The killers also took away valuables from her, GRP sources said.
Abdur Rouf, the victim's father, said Rifa passed SSC from Bogra Government Girls' School in 2015, securing GPA-5. He could not say who killed her.
Md Rezaunnabi, associate professor of Azizul Haque College, demanded immediate arrest and punishment of the criminals.
Contacted, Harunur Rashid, sub-inspector (GRP) of Bogra Outpost, said a case will be lodged with Bonarpara GRP Police Station on Monday evening.
