Clash over land dispute leaves 20 injured

At least 20 people were injured in a clash between two rival groups at Gourdah village in Mirpur upazila of the district yesterday.

The injured were admitted to Kushtia General Hospital, said party sources.

There was a longstanding conflict between local influential person Ainal Mandol and Ufan Ali, a member of Mosha Union Parishad, over a piece of land in the area.

As a sequel to the conflict, the men of the two rivals attacked each other with lethal weapons yesterday morning, leaving at least 20 people from both sides injured.
