Carbon factory gutted

A carbon factory was gutted in a fire at Narendrapur area under Sadar upazila of Jessore district on Monday night. Ruhul Quddus, acting assistant director of Jessore Fire Service and Civil Defence, said the fire broke out in Khulna Carbon Industries Limited around 7:30pm. On information, four firefighting units from Sadar upazila, Abhoynagar and Manirampur stations rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire in four hours. The factory owner claimed that the extent of the loss could go up to Tk10 lakh.
