Boiler blast kills one

A man was killed and two others were injured in a boiler explosion at a rice mill in Vangura upazila of the district.

The victim, Gonesh Chowdhury, 50, was a worker of the rice mill at Ashtomonisha village of the upazila.

Md Abu Zafar, officer-in-charge (OC) of Vangura Police Station, said the boiler exploded at around 5:00pm yesterday at the rice mill of Ujjal Hossain of the village.

Gonesh died on the spot while Abdul Latif, 60, and Romesa Khatun, 40, were injured, the OC said.
