BGB seizes 3.9 lakh yaba pills in Teknaf

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) has seized 3.9 lakh pieces of yaba from Damdamia bordering area of Teknaf upazila in Cox's Bazar last evening.

A team of BGB took position at Omar Khal area around 7:45pm on information that several drug smugglers were about to enter Bangladesh with a big shipment of yaba pills, says a press release.

Sensing their presence, four to five smugglers fled, leaving behind five sacks on the spot.

The BGB men searched the bag and found the yaba pills inside, it said.

The street value of the contraband items is Tk 11.7 crore, the release added.
