AL leader sent to jail

Foyes Ahmed Russel, organising secretary of Awami League (AL) Nabiganj municipality unit, was sent to jail on Monday in an attempted rape case.

Foyes, the main accused in the case, surrendered to Habiganj Women and Children Repression Prevention Court and sought bail. Judge Kiron Kumar Hawlader rejected his bail prayer and sent him to jail.

According to case statement, the AL leader allegedly tried to rape a housewife at Lowgaon village in Nabiganj upazila on April 14 this year.
