A local leader of Bangladesh Chhatra League and 40 others were sued yesterday on charge of creating obstruction to government work in the district.

The accused include Enamul Haque Rubel, general secretary of the district unit of BCL, said Aminur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Manikganj Sadar Police Station.

Bashir Uddin Ahammed, surveyor of revenue section of deputy commissioner's office, filed the case with the police station against 41 people, said the OC.

Despite repeated calls, this correspondent could not reach the BCL leader for his comment in this regard as his cell phone remained switched off.

However, President of Manikganj district unit of BCL Sadikul Islam Soha said the leaders and activists of the unit went to the office on Wednesday to buy a tender on behalf of Jahid Hossain, general secretary of the district unit of Awami League.

The BCL leaders and activists engaged in an altercation with the official when he denied selling the tender documents to them, he said.
