4 held with firearms in Cox’s Bazar

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained four people while they were allegedly planning to rob a place in Teknaf upazila of Cox's Bazar today.

The arrestees are, Nurul Amin (32), Anwar Hossain (21), Jafar Alam (42) and Nazir Ahmed (50), our local correspondent reports quoting Lt Colonel Mohammad Faisal Hossain Khan, captain of BGB-2 Battalion.

All of them are from different places in the upazila, he added.

On information that a group of was preparing to rob a place at Ulumari village, a BGB team conducted a drive and detained the four along with six pistols and 10 rounds of fresh cartridge, the BGB official said.

Legal actions are underway against the detainees, he added.
