3 journos get posthumous award

Brahmanbaria Press Club has conferred posthumous award to three journalists.

Md Nurul Hossain, editor of Brahmanbaria's first daily Dainik Brahmanbaria; Abedul Huq Abed, editor of The Daily Halchal and Akhter Hossain, the founder member of the Press Club were recognized through the posthumous awards.

The awards were handed over to members of the bereaved family at Brahmanbaria Press Club auditorium yesterday evening.

Obaidul Muktadir Chowdhury, chairman of the Standing Committee on Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism was the chief guest of the function chaired by Rashidul Islam, president of the press club.

Nayar Kabir, mayor of Brahmanbaria Municipality and district Awami League General Secretary Al-Mamun Sarkar also attended the program as special guests.

The welcome address was delivered by Dipak Chowdhury Bappi, general secretary of the club.

Syed Mizanur Reza, Manzurul Alam, AFM Kawser Emran, Abdun Noor and Riaz Uddin Jami also addressed the function among others.
