20 houses gutted

A fire gutted around 20 houses at Torra Islampur village in Haripur upazila of the district yesterday.

The fire originated from an earthen oven of one Sultan’s house around 1:00pm and soon engulfed the adjacent dwellings.

On information, firefighters rushed to the spot and doused the blaze after two hours of frantic efforts, said locals.
