13 AL activists in Patuakhali expelled for violating discipline
Thirteen Awami League leaders and activists of Kuakata municipal unit and Latachapali union unit have been expelled for violating party discipline.
The party has taken the decision as they are taking part in campaign for an independent candidate instead of incumbent mayor Abdul Barek Mollah, the AL-nominated candidate for the Kuakata municipal polls scheduled to be held on December 28, Kalapara Upazila Awami League general secretary Abdul Motaleb Talukder said yesterday.
It was alleged that they were working for independent candidate Anwar Hossain Howlader, who recently resigned from Jatiya Party, our Patuakhali correspondent reports quoting the AL leader.
The expelled members of AL Kuakata municipal unit are Abdur Rob Majhi, Abdul Haque Majhi, Md Ramzan Ali Biswas, MA Bari Azad, Md Abu Hanif, Md Sagir Mollah, Md Khokon Biswas, Md Ali Hawlader.
From AL Latachapali union, organising secretary Abul Hossain Kazi, members Abu Saeed Fakir, Md Sekandar Majhi and Abdul Mannan Bepari and former president Nazrul Islam Fakir have been expelled.
