1 held for raping woman in Jashore

Police have arrested a 23-year-old man who is suspected to have raped a woman in Bagharpara Upazila of Jashore.

The arrest came after the victim filed a rape case with Bagharpara Police Station against him, reports our Benapole correspondent quoting police. 

The incident took place yesterday evening around 7:00pm in Amuria village under the upazila. The victim, wife of an expatriate, was alone at home when the arrestee forcibly entered the house with a weapon and later fled after violating her, Syed Al-Mamun, officer-in-charge of the police station, told reporters citing the case statement.

The victim filed the case with the police station later on the same night and police arrested the man in this connection, the OC also said.

According to the case statement, the accused has long been making indecent proposals to the victim, the OC added.
