1 held for raping 10-year-old in Khulna three days back

A ten-year-old child was raped in Khulna city's Shiromani area on October 13 but the family filed a case this morning leading to the arrest of one person in this connection.

Police arrested Ershad Munshi (32) this morning after the victim's mother filed a rape case with Khanjahan Ali Police Station, said Prabir Kumar Biswas, officer-in-charge (OC) of the police station.

Quoting the victim's family, OC Prabir Kumar Biswas said Ershad from the same area took the 10-year-old to a paddy field at noon of October 13 promising her chocolates.

He later raped the girl and also threatened her to kill if she informed the matter to anyone, the OC said.

But on October 15, the child told the incident to her mother as her physical condition deteriorated, the OC added quoting the victim's mother.
