Muslim priest, girl killed in Dinajpur shrine

A Muslim priest and a teenage girl were stabbed and shot dead at his shrine in Bochaganj upazila of Dinajpur tonight.

The deceased were identified as Md Forhad Hossain, 65, and Rupali Begum, 19, reports our Dinajpur correspondent quoting police.

Locals found the bodies at the shrine in Doula village of the upazial around 9:30pm said Hamidul Alam, superintendent of police (SP) in Dinajpur.

Being informed, police rushed there and recovered the bodies, he added.

Initially it was suspected that the criminals might have killed them between 7:00pm to 8.00pm, the SP said.

The bodies will be sent to Dinajpur Medical College Hospital for autopsy, he said.
