3 injured in repair mishap at BB’s Bogura branch
Three persons were injured when a metal pole fell on them during construction work at Bangladesh Bank's Bogura branch.
The injured were identified as Jiban (40), Arman Ali (38) and Sajjad Ali Nayan (35), said police.
The injured are undergoing treatment at local hospitals. Of the injured, Sajjad's condition is critical, said police quoting doctors.
SM Badiuzzaman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Bogura Sadar Police Station, said the incident happened at the Bangladesh Bank building in Bogura while repair work was going on.
"Suddenly at around 12noon, a metal pole fell on customers who were standing in a queue -- leaving them injured," he said, adding that later staff of the bank assisted them and sent them to local hospitals.
Police detained the supervisor of the construction work for interrogation.
Meanwhile, BB Bogura branch General Manager Jagannath Chandra Ghosh said they have already formed a three-member probe body to investigate the incident.
"Action would be taken against those found guilty," he added.
