2 RU students held on rape charges

Two students of Rajshahi University have been arrested on rape charges.

Police picked them up from Shah Makhdum dormitory of the university last night.

"One is a student of public administration while the other studies social science at RU," said SM Masud Parvez, officer-in-charge of Motihar Police Station.

The victim's father had accused them in a case filed under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, he said.

One of the arrestees used to provide tuitions to the girl. On February 15, he took the girl to his place in Kazla area and raped her there with help of the other accused, the OC said citing the case statement.
