Gonoshasthaya Kendra Founder and Trustee Dr Zafrullah Chowdhury has recovered after being infected with coronavirus, Dr Bijon Kumar Sil said today.

Bijon, the lead researcher Gonoshasthaya Pharmaceuticals, said tests with the antigen kit developed by Gonoshasthaya Kendra did not find any trace of coronavirus in Zarfullah's body yesterday.

"I have tested Zafrullah Chowdhury with the antigen and antibody kit. As per the test report, it can be said for sure that he has recovered from the coronavirus," he said.

"Enough antibodies have been made in his body. He can be called healthy now."

Dr Zafrullah, however, will have to stay in the hospital for another five days due to his kidney problems and the stress he has suffered in the last few days.

Mahibullah Khandaker, vice principal of Gonoshasthaya Samaj Vittik Medical College, said Zafrullah had been breathing normally all day today, maintaining 95% oxygen saturation throughout the day.

Dr Zafrullah tested positive for coronavirus on May 24.
