Singer Selim Chowdhury infected with Covid-19

Renowned singer Selim Chowdhury has tested positive for Covid-19.

He is now undergoing treatment at Covid-19 dedicated centre of North East Medical College Hospital in Sylhet, reports our local correspondent.

Contacted, Selim Chowdhury said, "I became ill while I was staying at my residence in Shamshernagar of Kamalganj upazila in Moulvibazar. My sample was collected on Saturday and I got admitted to the hospital on Monday.

"Hours after my admission at the hospital, I tested positive. But I am doing well till today and urge everyone to pray for my recovery," he said.

Dr Nazmul Islam, director of the hospital, said, "He is undergoing treatment and his physical condition is stable."
