Govt to bring 6.80cr doses of Covid-19 vaccine: finance minister

The government will bring 6.80 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccine, Finance Minister AHM Mustafa Kamal told the parliament today.

The vaccines will be brought to the country through Gavi-COVAX, the minister said in a report on implantation of the first six-month budget of the current fiscal. 

So far, 48.40 lakh vaccines have been used under the agreement signed for three crore doses of Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine.

Process is on to bring the rest of the vaccines, he said.

The minister mentioned that Bangladesh was among the world's top 20 countries which received Covid-19 vaccines.

The government has decided to vaccinate all above 18 free of cost.
