7,087 Covid-19 cases recorded in 24 hours, highest till now
Fifty-three people have died from Covid-19 during 24 hours (till 8 am today), according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
With this, the total number of deaths reached 9,266, and the death rate currently stands at 1.45 percent.
At least 7,087 new infections were recorded in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 6,37,364, added the release. This is the highest number of infections recorded in a day so far in the country.
The current positivity rate is 23.07 percent, while the total positivity rate stands at 13.32 percent.
A total of 30,724 samples were tested across the country in 24 hours (till 8 am today).
At least 2,707 Covid-19 patients have recovered during the period.
The total number of recoveries now stands at 5,52,482 and the recovery rate at 86.68 percent.
Among the 53 deceased, 45 were men and eight women, while one was between 11-20 years old, two were within 31-40, five between 41-50, 11 within 51-60, and 34 were above 60 years old, added the release.
