126 more Bangladeshis return from India through Benapole
Another 126 Bangladeshis, who were stuck in India, returned home today through Benapole check-post.
"A total of 126 Bangladeshi returned through Benapole land port from this morning till afternoon," said Ahsan Habib, officer-in-charge of Benapole check-post immigration police.
The returnees have been taken to different hotels and guesthouses in Benapole and Jashore with police escort for 14-day institutional quarantine, said the OC.
With the 126, a total of 3,911 Bangladeshis have returned through the Benapole check-post between April 26 and today, our Benapole correspondent reports, quoting the police official.
On April 26, Bangladesh government closed all border crossings with India following a massive surge of Covid-19 infection in the neighbouring country.
