The 10 Covid-19 patients who fled from Jashore General Hospital were forced by authorities concerned to be readmitted to the hospital.

All were traced by law enforcers and administration on Monday and were then brought back to the hospital between Monday night and this morning, a correspondent reports from Jashore.

"They will have to receive treatment here till they get cured. They will be allowed to leave hospital following issuance of release certificates by doctors concerned after the patients are cured," said Dr Dilip Kumar Ghosh, superintendent of the hospital.

The 10 patients were admitted to the hospital in the second week of April. Seven of them recently returned from India through the Benapole border where they tested positive for coronavirus. They were taken to the hospital under police supervision from the border.

But they fled from the hospital between April 18 and 24. The issue came into media focus on Monday.

The hospital authorities then took measures to bring them back to the hospital.
