Woman dies after falling from rooftop in Dhaka’s Kamrangirchar

A woman died after falling from the rooftop of a building in Dhaka's Kamrangirchar area this morning.

The deceased was identified as Rafeza Begum Rasheda, 35.

Hailing from Madaripur, she used to live in a six-storey building in Kamrangirchar's Roni Market area with her husband and children.

Deceased's sister Shahnaz Begum said Rasheda went to the rooftop with a quilt to dry it in the sun. While she was putting it out on the railing around 10am, a part of the railing collapsed and she fell.

She was immediately rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared her dead around 12:30pm, she said.

Inspector Bachchu Mia, in-charge of DMCH Police Outpost, said the body was sent to hospital morgue for autopsy.
