Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-7 ) arrested a listed criminal and his two followers on Sunday night and recovered 23 firearms and 20 rounds of bullets from his house at Swandip upazila in Chittagong yesterday.

The arrestees are Md Shahed Ullah, accused in three cases over clashes over establishing supremacy, Md Manik Mia, and Md Nirob Mia.

Rab-7 said they made the arrest during their special survielence launched after the double murder in Baten Market area in Harishpr of Swandip on September 21 over establishing supremacy in a cattle market. The fire arms include AK-22 rifle, foreign pistols, revolvers, shooter guns and pipe guns.

Swandip police sources said Shahed was inloved with the upazila unit of Jubo League but its Convener Siddiqur Rahman denied the arrestee's involvement with the front organisation of Awami League.
