Upazila parishad vice chairperson suspended

Vice-chairperson of Dupchanchia upazila parishad in Bogra Abdul Mottaleb Hossain Mintu was suspended on Thursday as he was named an accused in a case for arson and vandalism in the area on March 3, 2013.
The upazila's nirbahi officer (UNO) Md Saifur Rahman Khan received a letter in this regard from the LGRD ministry on Thursday evening.
Mintu, also the organising secretary of the upazila unit of BNP, is accused in the case filed for violence centring the image of Jamaat lwader Sayedee "seen in the moon".
Talking to The Daily Star, Saifur said the ministry suspended Mintu as he has been absconding since the case was filed. 
Mintu could not be reached for comments.
